Description

The new reagent for extraction-photometrcic determination of Cd in magnesium-based alloys - 2'-4-phenyl-2-thiazolylazo-4'-methyl-5'-ethylaminophenol is synthesized. In case of a rather small reagent excess the complex of the Cd:R=1:2 composition is formed, with reagent concentration increase the ratio becomes 1:4. The complex of the 1:2 composition is unstable, the complex composition at the ratio 1:4 has the (CdR2)x2R form. The structure of the forming complex and complexing mechanism are suggested. The technique for Cd photometric determination is developed. Al, Sn, Bi, Fe(3), Pb(2), Mg, Sb(3), Zn ions in relation to Cd:Me=1:200 and Mn(2) (1:100), Cu(2), Ni(1:20) do not hinder the determination. The Beer's law is observed at the reagent excess in the 0.2-2.0 μg/ml of Cd concentrations range
