Thermal effects in wire targets on storage ring beams

Description
Results of estimating the temperature regime of thread-shape targets during their irradiation with an electron beam in storage rings are presented. It is supposed that target heating takes place mainly due to ionization electron energy losses, which is completely consumed by the target heating. It is considered that heat removal from the target occurs due to radiation and heat conductivity. Determined are admissible minimal targets thickness and optimal range of thickness at which target effective irradiation can take place
