- 1. EG and G Idaho, Inc., Idaho Falls, ID
Description
In response to one concern of the President's Commission on Three Mile Island, this paper explains the need to introduce state-of-the-art technology into nuclear power plant control rooms. Part of this technology is a safety parameter display system (SPDS)--a computer-based system for graphic display of real-time information. The requirements for this system specified by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission are delineated, an key requirements are highlighted. Industry designs for graphic displays are discussed in relation to usage by reactor operating crews
