A primary coolant monitor for a PWR-type power plant

  • 1. Nikkiso Co. Ltd., Tokyo (Japan)

Description

A primary coolant monitor (PCM) has been developed as the extension of a boron analyzer based on the conductivity method with a mannitol reagent. The PCM enables automatic monitoring of water-chemical information contained in the primary coolant such as concentration of boric acid, concentration of lithium hydroxide, electric conductivity, and more over, pH, eliminating the need for a typical pH-meter. This direct information is useful in interpreting the chemical condition of the primary coolant. (author)
