Pressure wave propagation in a liquid with a flashing
Description
An intense pressure oscillation was observed just after a blowdown with a pressurized vessel having a temperature gradient. This oscillation is due to a reflection plate which was generated by a flashing occuring in an upper part of the system. Evaluation of the position of this reflection plate lead that it corresponds to the boundary between a two-phase and a single-phase region. Calculation based on a thermal equilibrium homogeneous model with a flashing delay time could explain this pressure oscillation well. (author)
