Scintillator materials for X and γ rays

Description

Scintillators are used to convert high energy radiations (X, gamma, neutrons) into ultraviolet or visible light which can be easily detected. Some applications, such as medical imaging and high energy physics are presented. The scintillator materials are described with their applications ranges and main properties. Finally, storage phosphors are shortly discussed. (author)
