Description
The results of an analysis are summarized and three alternatives for the decommissioning of WWER-440/213 reactors are described, namely: (i) fragmentation of the reactor in the concrete reactor shaft; (ii) fragmentation of the internal parts of the reactor inside the pressure vessel in the concrete shaft, followed by transport and fragmentation of the pressure vessel at a special fragmentation site; and (iii) disintegration of the reactor as a whole. The last alternative appears to be least suitable. (J.B.). 3 tabs., 5 figs., 9 refs
