Description

The important physical concepts, to specify the bandcrossing phenomena in high-spin yrast sequences of deformed nuclei, have been successfully established so far by means of the rotating shell model and the particle-plus-rotor model. In this paper, it is attempted to give background of these concepts in view of the nuclear many-body problem. A theoretical proposal is also given for a condition to occurrence of a 'band-head' state of the s-band. (author)
