Description
Good outcome of nuclear medicine study also depend upon film processing. In those institutions where automatic processors are either not available or remain non-functional for longer duration, the entire film processing is done manually. A few centers maybe in advantageous position to have full-time darkroom assistants. However in majority of the centers, film processing and other darkroom related activities are performed by nuclear medicine technologists. Hence, to ensure acceptable image quality, adequate training including the concept of QC is necessary for all nuclear medicine technologists. (author)
