Thermodynamics of the coordination of uranyl ions with some beta-diketones in aqueous dioxane (Preprint No. CT-34)
Creators
- 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Radiochemistry Div.
Description
The thermodynamics of the complexation between hexavalent uranium and several beta-diketones have been investigated in 50 vol per cent dioxane-water mixture at 25 and 35 ± 0.01degC following the Bjerrum Calvin pH-titration technique, as modified by Van Uitert and Haas. Aqueous dioxane is used because of poor water solubility of ligands and their metal complexes. The ligands are monoprotic. Thermodynamic stability constants are computed by the method of least-squares by appropriate algebraic transformation of experimental data. (author)
