High spin states and pairing vibrations

Description
The Generator-Coordinate-Method is applied to describe yrast-bands and excited vibrational bands of pairing-vibrational or β-vibrational type in deformed rare earth nuclei. The model wave functions are supplied by the Pairing + Quadrupole-Model with angular momentum - and particle number projection. Results are shown of the nucleus 170Yb. The question if backbending may be produced by the intersection of the ground and the neutron pairing vibrational band is discussed. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Generator-Koordinatenmethode wird zur Beschreibung von Yrast-Banden und angeregten Schwingungsbanden von Paarbildungs-Vibrations- oder β-Vibrationstyp in deformierten Seltenerdkernen verwendet. Die Modellwellenfunktionen erhaelt man durch das Paarbildungs- und Quadrupolmodell mit Drehmoment- und Teilchendichteprojektion. Ergebnisse fuer den Kern 170Yb werden vorgelegt, und die Frage wird diskutiert, ob 'backbending' durch den Schnitt der Grund- und der Neutronenpaarbildungs-Vibrationsbande verursacht wird.
