Description
Bifurcation theory in nonlinear dynamic systems and the principle of the determination of stability are presented. The paper then discusses the dissipative and nonlinear factors in thermal dynamic systems. A theoretical method for the study on flow instability is derived. To test the validity of the theoretical method in analysing two-phase flow instability in the thermal dynamic systems, the experimental results on a natural circulation loop have been made use of. Comparison indicates reasonable agreement between theoretical predictions and the experimental results
