Quantum mechanical reactive scattering theory in the infinite-order sudden approximation calculations for the system D + HCL → H + DCl at 0.53 eV
Description
With this work it shall be tried to enlarge and apply the rotational-infinite-order sudden approximation to a three-dimensional reactive system. The complete angular momentum coupling is neglected in the IOS-approximation. That means on essential simplification of the calculation; this way also more complicated systems can be treated. The IOS-approximation was chosen, because it yield already good results in inelastic scattering. Furthermore it allows on exact treatment of vibrations, that generally are considered important for reactive processes. Additionally the scattering problem can be treated in the IOS-approximation quite analogous to collinear scattering. The formalism of collinear scattering is quite well known. The concrete calculation was done for the system D + HCl. (orig.)

In dieser Arbeit soll versucht werden, die Rotational-Inifinite-Order-Sudden-Naeherung (RIOS-Naeherung) auf ein dreidimensionales reaktives System zu erweitern und anzuwenden. In der IOS-Naeherung wird die gesamte Drehimpulskopplung vernachlaessigt. Das bedeutet eine wesentliche Vereinfachung fuer die Rechnung, so dass in dieser Naeherung auch kompliziertere Systeme behandelt werden koennen. Die IOS-Naeherung wurde gewaehlt, wiel sie in der inelastischen Streuung bereits zu guten Ergebnissen gefuehrt hat. Ausserdem erlaubt sie es, die Vibrationen, denen allgemein eine grosse Bedeutung fuer reaktive Vorgaenge beigemessen wird, exakt zu behandeln. Dazu kommt, dass das Streuproblem in der IOS-Naeherung ganz analog zur collinearen Streuung behandelt werden kann, und der Formalismus einer collinearen reaktiven Streuung ist recht gut bekannt. Konkret wurde die Rechnung fuer das System D + HCl durchgefuehrt. (orig.)
