Description

External respiration in 60 patients suffering from breast cancer depending on treatment technique is determined. The patients are subdivided into 3 groups. The first one comprises patients who have undergone radical mastectomy with musculus pectoralis major prservation. The second one comprises patients who have undergone radical mastectomy with musculus pectoralis majoor preservation and subsequent introduction of 2 60Co radiation sources into internal pectoral artery for lymph node irradiation. The 3rd group comprises patients who have undergone combined treatment: pre-operational breast irradiation, subsequent radical mastectomy with musculus pectoralis major preservation and lymph node irradiation by 60Co radiation source introduction. Investigations have shown that external respiratory function indices changed in all breast cancer patients independent of treatment technique
