Model for dose rate calculation outside a duct penetrating through the primary shield of the reactor

  • 1. Institute for Power Studies and Design, Nuclear Department, Bucharest, P.O.Box Mg-6, (Romania)

Description

The presence of a penetration through the primary shield of the reactor, determines the weakening of the shielding and therefore an increase of the gamma and neutron dose rates in that area. The paper contains a mathematical model for the calculation of the dose rate at a point outside a cylindrical duct with several sections, penetrating the side shield of a nuclear reactor. (Author)
