Description

The aim of this work is to obtain reliable experimental data of Bremsstrahlung emission accompanying the spontaneous fission of 252 Cf at photon energies over 50 MeV and to observe in detail the structure of the energy spectrum of the coherent Bremsstrahlung component caused by the interference of the electromagnetic waves emitted from the two moving fission fragments. It is shown that the shape of the Bremsstrahlung spectrum is sensitive to the pre-scission kinetic energy values of the fragments. The results are discussed with regard to the study of multifragmentation reaction mechanism. 10 refs., 2 figs
