Muon capture in hyperfine states of muonic deuterium
- 1. Osaka Univ., Toyonaka (Japan). Dept. of Physics
Description
Muon capture rates from the doublet and quartet states are carefully studied as the functions of the πNΔ coupling constants, c0 and d1, and the induced pseudoscalar form factor gP. Evaluation of the exchange current effects is still sensitive to the magnitudes of c0 and d1, although there are almost no ambiguities due to nuclear structure. We found that the ratio of the capture rates from these two hyperfine states is insensitive to c0 and d1, but fairly sensitive to gP. This is very useful to test PCAC in detail. (author)
