Final-state interaction in the 12C(γ,π-p) process
Creators
Description
The effect of interaction in the final state (IFS) on the 12C(γ,π-p) reaction yield has been analyzed in the region of the Δ-1232 resonance. The ration xi of the distorted and plane-wave momentum distributions is considered as the value characterising the effect of a residual nucleus. The values of xi calculated as a function of the pion and proton energies and the pion polar angle are plotted in a diagram. The basic IFS effect is shown to consist in strong suppression of the reaction yield. In this case variation of xi with the energy of one particle depends essentially on the energy of another one. The result obtained with allowing for IFS differs from that which could have been expected while introducing separate factors of suppression for pion and proton. The behaviour and the values of xi calculated with different p-nuclear potentials display considerable difference
