Purpose of anti-hydrogen studies

  • 1. Department of Physics, Auburn Univ., Auburn, AL (United States)

Description

The possibilities of high precision spectroscopy on anti-hydrogen atoms are considered. Especially, the 1s-2s transition and hyperfine transition of ground state anti-hydrogen atoms are believed to give a better understanding of the fundamental physics parameters. The use of neutral anti-particles has some advantages and opens up a new research field, which was not possible only with the use of charged anti-particles. (author)
