Process for preparing isolators of the ceramic-metal type withstanding thermal impacts

Description

This invention refers in general to insulating materials and, in particular, to insulators of the ceramic-metal type possessing excellent resistance to thermal impacts. These thermal impact resistant insulators are employed in devices of various sorts, for instance the equipment for use in the study of simulated coolant loss accidents in nuclear reactors which must stand up to being exposed to steam at around 9500C and also to sudden changes of temperature of around 3000C

Abstract (French)

La presente invention se rapporte, d'une maniere generale, a des matieres isolantes et, plus precisement, a des isolateurs du type ceramique-metal possedant une excellente resistance aux chocs thermiques. Ces isolateurs resistant aux chocs thermiques sont utilises dans des dispositifs de types varies, ainsi, par exemple, les appareillages prevus pour l'utilisation dans l'etude des accidents simules de perte d'agent refrigerant dans les reacteurs nucleaires qui doivent resister a l'exposition a la vapeur d'eau a 9500C environ et egalement a des variations brutales de temperature, de l'ordre de 3000C/s
