Scintigraphy of pentavalent 99mTc-DMSA in patients with medullary carcinomas of the thyroid
- 1. Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (Netherlands). Academisch Ziekenhuis
Description
In this short article the scintigraphy of thyroid carcinomas with 99mTc-(V)-dimercaptosuccinic acid is described. The authors conclude that the use of 99mTc-(V)-DMSA is of special importance if the primary tumor is known or almost sure, and clinical suspicion exists of metastases and local recurrence. 15 refs
