Description

Muon spin rotation/relaxation experiments on the HoBaCo2O5 perovskite are presented. At low temperatures, two spontaneous frequencies are observed, which can be related to the weighted sum and the difference of the magnetic moments of Co2+ and Co3+ in the charge ordered state of HoBaCo2O5. A temperature-dependent depolarization of the muon spin polarization changes its behaviour at the charge order transition. These results are discussed in the context of the charge order transition and the transport properties of HoBaCo2O5
