Description
CR-39 detector has been increasingly used with a considerable success in the development of a personnel neutron dosimeter. After many years of efforts, CR-39 is now in use for routine personnel neutron dosimetry in served countries. To know the progress made in the recent past, current techniques for measuring personnel neutrons doses with electrochemically etched CR-39 detector are reviewed. Emphasis is laid on efforts towards the achievement of a flat dose equivalent response over a wide neutron energy range from thermal to 19 MeV. The methods developed for minimizing the direction dependence of the CR-39 based neutron dosimeter are also discussed. (author)
