Investigation of interaction of cadmium nitrate with sodium hydroxide in aqueous solutions

Description
The methods of physiochemical analysis (measurement of Cd2+ and OH- residual concentrations, refraction index and liquid phase density) as well as X-ray phase analysis of precipitations have been used to study the interaction of Cd(NO3)2 with NaOH in isomolar series of mixtures of reagent solutions and in mixtures with constant content of Cd2+ ions at variable OH- ion concentration. It has been found that depending on reagents relations weakly-soluble interaction products are Cd3(OH)5NO3 or Cd(OH)2
