Advances in the geometrical model of the nucleus
Creators
Description
This article presents a theory based on a geometric interpretation of the nuclear structure. According to this theory, called Moon model, a nucleus is represented by an encasing of 4 regular solids: cube, octahedron, icosahedron and dodecahedron. Protons are located at the summits of these figures: 8 protons corresponding to the oxygen nucleus are placed to the 8 summits of a cube, 6 more protons are located to the 6 summits of an octahedron that contains the cube and we get the silicon nucleus, by adding an icosahedron whose 12 summits are occupied each by 1 proton we get the iron nucleus. By continuing this process with one dodecahedron then with 2 joint together by a face then by a segment between 2 summits, we obtain the different stable elements ranging from oxygen to uranium. In this article the author reviews the Moon model from the angles of Ampere, Gauss and Weber electrodynamics. (A.C.)
