Synergistic effect in combined initiation of elemental phosphorus polymerization in solution

Description
Polymerization kinetics of white phosphorus in benzene under conditions of combined initiation of the reaction by benzoyl peroxide and gamma radiation by the dose rate of 0.18 Gy/s has been studied. Phosphorus-containing polymer, which is red phosphorus modified by solvent fragments, is the reaction product. Efficiency of excitation energy transfer over benzene-benzoyl peroxide channel, which is F=125 M-1, has been determined. On the basis of kinetic data the presence of synergistic effect at the stage of polymerization process initiation is shown
