Isospin effects on the cross-over energy via nuclear fragmentation

  • 1. Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh (India)

Description

Using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model, we study asymmetric reactions for semi-central collisions at incident energies between 100 and 600 A MeV. Here, the partitioning of the fragmenting system is done into gas (low density) and liquid (high density) phases. Our results revealed that cross-over between gas and liquid content is occurred in all reaction pairs and cross-over energy (energy corresponding to equal yield of gas and liquid content) increases with increase in mass asymmetry. Also, we investigated the role of isospin degree of freedom on the cross-over energy in asymmetric reactions via nuclear symmetry energy and isospin dependence of cross-section. (author)
