Neutron detector

Description

The present invention relates to an improvement in a neutron detector and employs parallel electrodes the opposing faces of which are waved rather than planar, the object being to restrict the length of ionization particle traces and reduce the intensity of noise induced base line fluctuation by adopting the above structure which restricts the straight-line perspective viewed from a point in the ionization space. In conventional planar electrode detectors, base line fluctuation was chiefly caused by noise pulses having relatively long traces. The present invention effectively restricts trace length and reduces base line fluctuation. (Owens, K.J.)
