Description
An interpretive centre in Devon, Alberta was opened in August 1997. The opening of the Leduc No. 1 Oilfield Interpretive Centre commemorates the beginning of the modern Canadian oil industry that began on that site 50 years ago. The centre is meant to educate Canadians about the industry's past successes, legacies and prospects for future generations. It was built by the Leduc-Devon Oilfield Historical Society with industry donations and government funds. 1 fig
