Description
Radioimmuno assaying is an extremely sensitive analytical technique used in diagnostic medicine for the determination of minute quantities of hormones, drugs and other substances in serum. Low concentrations in the order of 10-12g can be determined. The development and production of commercial kits comprise the preparation of radioactive labelled antigens; non radioactive labelled standard antigens; antigen specific antibodies; fast and reliable separation techniques. To ensure the supply of high quality material it is necessary to follow various strict quality control measures

Die radio-immuno-essaieringstegniek is 'n hoogs sensitiewe analitiese metode wat in die diagnostiese geneeskunde gebruik word vir die bepaling van hormone, geneesmiddels en ander stowwe wat in serum voorkom. Lae konsentrasies van 10-12g/cm3 is bepaalbaar. Die ontwikkeling en produksie van kommersiele stelle vir radio-immuno-essaiering behels die bereiding van radioaktief gemerkte antigene; nie-radio-aktief gemerkte standaardantigene; antigeenspesifieke teenliggame en geskikte vinnige skeitegnieke.
