Yields of some radioisotopes formed in α-particle induced reactions on titanium and recovery of scandium radionuclides

Description
The thick target yield (TTY) of 47Sc produced by irradiation of natural titanium target with α particles up to 70 MeV is reported. At 70 MeV the yield of 47Sc is 2.75 MBq/μAh (74.3 μCi/μAh) while the yield of pure 47Sc at an optimal Eα=37 MeV is 0.2 MBq/μAh. The TTY of 44mSc, 46Sc, 48Sc, 48V, 48Cr and 51Cr are also reported. An efficient method to separate scandium radionuclides from the irradiated target is described. (orig.)
