Description
Developments in computerized tomography with ionizing radiation for industrial NDT are reviewed, from the first experimental scanners to current commercial systems. The paper describes in detail developments and applications which have originated in the USA, both in civil and military research. Important developments in other countries are also covered. The re-emergence of Compton scatter tomography as an imaging technique is investigated. (author)
