The effect of reversing projection data in fan-beam reconstruction tomography

  • 1. Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton (UK)

Description

The author presents a brief mathematical analysis of the reconstruction artefact which occurs when the projection data are reversed and the reconstruction algorithm is unmodified. The image is rotated by 180deg, is fairly undistorted at the centre, but is more severely distorted with increasing distance from the centre. (U.K.)
