Description
The triphenylphosphine hydrobromide-catalyzed addition of a proton from ethanol to anhydrodihydroartemisin has been employed for the synthesis of β-arteether and 4. Use of 1.5 equivalents of EtO2H or EtO3H yielded 11-[2H]- or 11-[3H]-arteether as the major product. (Author)
