Electroconduction of potasium, rubidium, and cesium orthophosphates

Description
Orthophosphates M3PO4 (M = K, Rb, Cs) were synthesized and characterized by the methods of X-ray phase and derivatographic analysis. Polymorphous transformation at a temperature of 390±10 deg C was revealed for cesium orthophosphate. Specific electric conductivity of the orthophosphates mentioned was measured in the range of temperatures from 300 to 800 deg C. It was ascertained that in the range of existence of high-temperature modifications the orthophosphates electric conductivity increases in the series of cations K+→Rb+→Cs+. The transfer numbers for Cs3PO4 at 400 and 500 deg C were 1±0.02. It is shown that Cs+ is the optimal cation from the viewpoint of ionic transport in alkali metal orthophosphates
Abstract (Russian)
Синтезированы и охарактеризованы методами рентгенофазового и дериватографического анализа ортофосфаты M3PO4 (M = K, Rb, Cs). Для ортофосфата цезия обнаружено полиморфное превращение при температуре 390±10 град С. Удельная электропроводность указанных ортофосфатов измерена в интервале температур 300-800 град С. Установлено, что в области существования высокотемпературных модификаций элеткропроводность ортофосфатов возрастает в ряду катионов K+→Rb+→Cs+. Числа переноса для Cs3PO4 при 400 и 500 град С составили 1±0,02. Показано, что оптимальным катионом с точки зрения ионного транспорта в ортофосфатах щелочных металлов является Cs+Additional details
