Observation of cosmic ray intensity variation with Matsushiro underground telescope

  • 1. Shinshu Univ., Matsumoto, Nagano (Japan)

Description

Using data from a new Matsushiro underground telescope for the period of Aug. 1980 - Feb. 1981, a total barometric pressure coefficient is determined as, β=0.045+-0.005 %/mb. This value is about 5 times larger than the barometric coefficient theoretically expected. By making use of the observed data in the upper atmosphere at various depths, it is found that the greater part of the present value may be caused by the atmospheric temperature effects
