High B content alloy steel
Description
In the present invention, a high B content alloy steel containing from 0.2 to 5wt% of B, up to 0.01wt% of C and O and a balance mainly of Fe is manufactured based on the finding that in a case of manufacturing steel by adding various alloy elements to highly purified Fe, if the amount of impurities, for example, especially C or O is strictly restricted, steels excellent in ductility and fabricability in cold rolling can be obtained even if considerable amount of B is contained. With such procedures, alloy steels to be used for neutron shielding materials having satisfactory fabricability can be obtained at a low cost without requiring a great amount of special elements.
