Consequences of the explosions at the Novozemelsky test site for population of the Komi republic
Description
Medical statistical data about birth, incidence and mortality rate for different population groups in two northern regions of the Komi Republic adjacent to the Novozemelsky Test Site and Vorkuta are analyzed. The data obtained give evidence about: - continuous rise of respiratory diseases; -sharp increase of nervous system and mental diseases; - elevation of cancer diseases; - increase of the total mortality rate, the main reasons of which are cardiovascular; - cancer mortality rise; - rise of the number of cases in the group of 15-19 years that were not registered up to 1970; - leucosis mortality dynamics
