Description

The management of radioactive waste at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) is described. An overview is provided on current practices in the processing of different types and categories of radioactive waste. Data are given on amounts of waste generated annually. The strategy, together with efforts and projects for improving the management of radioactive waste at INPP in the future are outlined. The co-operation between Lithuania and Sweden on radioactive waste management is highlighted. (author)
