Time capability measurement of photon-excited fluorescence of Lacl3:Ce scintillator

Description
Lacl3:Ce scintillator is the inorganic fast-response crystal which have been developed newly interiorly. We measure the time-capability of Lacl3:Ce scintillator by the measurement system,that is made up of LASER(emits laser of 266nm wavelength), Lacl3:Ce scintillator, photoelectric cell etc. We attain the waveform and time-capability parameter. The experiment result as follows: rise time, fall time, FWHM and decay time is 1.06ns, 56.5ns, 19.60ns and 25.73ns respectively. The result show: Lacl3:Ce scintillator is fast-response crystal, scintillation decay time is faster one order of magnitude than that of NaI:Tl. Further more it have light output, and high sensitive to γ pulse. It may be used in low intensity γ pulse radiation field. (authors)
