A preliminary survey of soil erosion in a small basin in the Parana State by using 137Cs methodology
Description
The 137Cs methodology was used in a small basin in Parana State, Brazil for a preliminary verification of the soil erosion quantification. Six transects at the cultivated areas in the basin were sampling for soil erosion and deposition estimation and one site in a forest area was sampling for the 137Cs input determination in the region. Three published equations were used for the soil losses or gain determination at the sampling sites in transects. The results showed that a precaution must be taken in the use of these equations
