Description
Highlights: → Four dendrimer ion exchangers were investigated according to porous structure. → Surface area and pore volume were measured by low temperature nitrogen adsorption. → Geometric parameters were also measured by inverse size exclusion chromatography. → Surface modifications strongly influence porous structure of adsorbent. → Results allow comparing adsorbents according to surface-specific retention. - Abstract: The novel polymeric adsorbents were investigated. The packing material was prepared by modification of 1,4-di(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxypropoxy)phenol. The polymer support was coated with polymeric layers formed by condensation polymerization of primary amine with diepoxide. Synthesized copolymer of methylamine (MA) and 1,4-butanedioldiglycidyl ether (BDDE) exhibits a dendrimer structure. Prepared materials were characterized by elemental analysis and solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy. Porous structure of the adsorbents was investigated using the low temperature nitrogen adsorption (LTNA) and inverse size exclusion chromatographic methods (ISEC). It allows determining the influence of the packing material topology on their chromatographic properties. The surfaces of the synthesized materials were also imaging by the atomic force microscope.
