Synthesis and investigation into potassium peroxypentafluorotantalate monohydrate

Description
Potassium peroxypentafluorotantalate monohydrate K2TaO2F5·H2O has been synthesized by introduction of hydrogen peroxide and potassium chloride in high purity tantalum-containing fluoride solutions at 70 Deg C with subsequent cooling of the mixture to room temperature with the rate 10-15 Deg/h. X-ray diffraction demonstrates that K2TaO2F5·H2O is crystallized in monoclinic syngony: a=8.965(2), b=8.966(2), c=9.25(2) A, β=99.78(3) Deg, Z=4, Vun.cel= 733.3(5) A3, ρcalc=3.681 g/cm3, M=404.13; sp. gr. C23=C2(5). Thermolysis of K2TaO2F5·H2O was studied at 160-1000 Deg C, and phases formed in the given conditions were determined
