Valves and pumps operating experience in French nuclear plants
Description
Two Electricite de France data banks have been used to analyse reliability characteristics of two critical components of French nuclear power plants. These components are: primary and secondary valves and feedwater pumps. The main failure modes and causes are presented with their respective failure rates. The impact of components failures on plant availability is shown. Practical conclusions are drawn concerning pump maintenance intervals. (author)
