Proportion of ultraviolet radiation in solar spectrum total energy

Description

Solar radiation characteristics were determined in the ultraviolet region. The calculations of the characteristics of the direct, global, and diffused ultraviolet radiation were made using the radiant model of a cloudless aerosol atmosphere. Determined were the spectral distribution of solar UV radiation and the effect of ozone on the diffused and global UV radiation intensities. Measurements were conducted in Bratislava and at Mlynany. The comparison of theoretical and experimental results shows that the measured values of global UV radiation are lower by 10 to 25% than those calculated. (J.B.)
