The Yb-Ga-Te system

Description

Methods of differential thermal-, X-ray diffraction, microstructural analyses have been used as well as the measurements of microhardness to study the phase diagram of the Yb-Ga-Te ternary system in the cross sections: Yb-GaTe, YbTe-Ga2Te3, YbTe-GaTe, YbGa2-YbTe and YbGa2-GaTe; the liquidus surface projection is plotted. The YbGa2Te4, Yb3Ga2Te5 compounds are found that are formed via peritectic reactions at 1013 and 1088 K, respectively
