Description

The study of low energy atomic collisions is presented from the point of view of selecting an optimized description, that can take into account the main dynamical effects introduced by the nuclear motion on the electronic wave function. A review is given of the various approaches to that problem, such as optimized translation factors for each channel, a common phase factor and a non-linear nuclear coordinate transformation.
