Analysis of seismic effects on reinforced concrete structures
Description
An important bibliographical research was undertaken in order to make the best possible analysis of the dynamic behaviour of materials and of structural components. This research work was completed by the study of the structures tested on a seismic table. The results obtained from this preliminary study, particularly those concerning the modification in the rigidity of reinforced concrete structures under alternate and seismic loading, enabled a calculation method (called ''equivalent static'') to be drawn up for analyzing the behaviour of reinforced concrete structures in earthquakes. This method takes into account the non-linearity of the behaviour of materials, in particular. The earthquake responses that were obtained by this method on gantries tested on a vibrating table, tally very satisfactorily with the test figures

Une importante recherche bibliographique a ete effectuee en vue d'analyser au mieux le comportement dynamique des materiaux ainsi que celui des elements structuraux. Cette recherche est completee par l'etude des structures essayees sur table seismique. Les enseignements qui ont ete tires de cette etude prealable, notamment ceux concernant la modification de la rigidite des structures beton arme sous chargement alterne et seismique, ont permis d'etablir une methode de calcul (dite ''statique equivalente'') pour l'analyse de la tenue aux seismes des structures en beton arme. Cette methode tient compte, en particulier de la non-linearite du comportement des materiaux.
