Multi-channel laser amplifier
Description
A description is given of a laser amplification process featuring: the generation of a laser oscillation giving a frequency stabilised output radiation, the distribution of this output radiation over several laser amplification channels arranged in parallel, and the amplification of the radiation distributed, whilst conserving its spectral qualities. It includes a laser oscillator providing a frequency stabilised ouput radiation, several laser amplification channels and a system for apportioning the laser radiation provided by the oscillator between each laser amplification channel arranged in parallel. The laser amplification channels include means for ensuring the pulsed amplification of the laser radiation of the oscillator. It also includes means for ensuring a sequential operation of the various laser amplification channels, in order to maintain a constant interval between the pulses supplied by each channel, the pulses produced by the various amplification channels being uniformly apportioned inside the interval separating two consecutive pulses of any channel. To this is associated an isotopic separation device used in conjunction with the composite beam so as to determine a selective photo-excitation of a uranium isotope
