Parton-proton structure function
Description
A method is proposed to extract the knowledge on the parton-proton structure function from deep inelastic eP scattering data. A structure tensor is obtained by considering the coveriant spinor parton model. The tensor is expressed with the parton-proton structure function. Functions F1 and F2 are derived from the structure function. Due to complicated kinematical factor fij, it is very tedious to solve these functions F exactly, and some approximate calculations are carried out. One of the approximation is to solve a simplified integral equation in which fij are replaced by constants. The other one is the replacement of fij with anti fij estimated for the values at the corner C. These are the method to extract the informations on the parton-proton structure function from experimental data. (Kato, T.)
